Currently, I’m a Senior Researcher at British Telecom Research Labs (UK). My research focuses on the advancement of solutions for real-time support, collaboration and training via immersive technologies; embedding knowledge of computational intelligence, augmented/virtual/mixed reality and intelligent environments.
I hold a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Essex (UK) where I’m Visiting Fellow at the Immersive Education Lab (IEL). I completed an MSc in Advanced Web Engineering at the University of Essex (UK), and a BEng in Information Technology at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (Mexico). I have more than 15 years of professional experience, working mainly in financial institutions, retail and telecommunications companies, in close collaboration with international multidisciplinary teams.
I work actively in several conferences, workshops, and journals, and I am an executive board member of the Immersive Learning Research Network, steering committee member of the Creative Science Foundation, associate editor of EAI Endorsed Transactions on e-Learning, a senior member of IEEE and affiliate member of ALT and CMI.
My research interests lie in the areas of mixed, augmented and virtual reality (MR/AR/VR), digital twins, artificial intelligence (AI), ambient intelligence (AmI), internet-of-things (IoT), cyber-physical systems (CPS), intelligent environments, pervasive computing, computer-supported collaborative work (CSCW), technology-enhanced learning (TEL), and human-computer interaction (HCI).
