About

I am a Computer Scientist with R&D experience in digital twins and immersive environments, currently working as a Research Manager at BT Research Labs (UK). My research interests include XR (mixed reality, augmented reality, virtual reality), artificial intelligence, and internet-of-things for creating digital twins, ambient intelligence, human-computer interfaces and cyber-physical systems. I’m also interested in remote collaborative work, technology-enhanced learning, innovation and the idea-generation process.

Additionally, I’m a Visiting Fellow at the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering (CSEE) at the  University of Essex  (UK), the institution from where I hold a PhD in Computer Science and an MSc in Advanced Web Engineering. I completed a BEng in Information Technology at the  Instituto Politécnico Nacional  (Mexico).

I am an IEEE Senior Member and Committee Member of the IEEE EdSoc’s Technical Committee on Immersive Learning Environments. I also serve as a Board Member of two non-profits: the Immersive Learning Research Network (iLRN) and the Creative Science Foundation (CSf).

I volunteer and organise different conferences, workshops, and journals, and I have more than 15 years of professional experience in the industry, working in collaboration with international multidisciplinary teams.
