Currently I am a Postdoctoral Researcher (KTP Associate) within the School of Computer Science and Electronic Engineering at the University of Essex (UK), and a Research Fellow at  British Telecom Research Labs in Adastral Park, UK.

My current research focuses in the advancement of solutions for real-time support, collaboration and training via immersive technologies; embedding knowledge of computational intelligence, augmented reality and intelligent environments.

I hold a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Essex (UK), where I am part of the Intelligent Environments Research Group (IEG) and the Immersive Education Lab (iEL). Previously, I completed a MSc in Advanced Web Engineering at the University of Essex (UK) and a BEng in Information Technology at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (Mexico). I have several years of professional experience in financial institutions and retail companies, working in close collaboration with international multidisciplinary teams.

I am Board Member of the Immersive Learning Research Network, Associate Editor for MERLOT (Multimedia Educational Resources for Learning and Online Teaching) Computer Science Task Force, Information Officer at the Creative Science Foundation, and member of IEEE, ACM, BCS and ALT. Additionally, I work actively in several conferences, workshops, and journals.

My research interests lie in the areas of mixed, augmented and virtual reality (MR/AR/VR), artificial intelligence (AI), ambient intelligence (AmI), internet-of-things (IoT), cyber-physical systems (CPS), intelligent environments, computer-supported collaborative work (CSCW), technology-enhanced learning (TEL), and human-computer interaction (HCI).
