Currently, I’m a Senior Researcher at British Telecom Research Labs (UK). My research focuses in the advancement of solutions for real-time support, collaboration and training via immersive technologies; embedding knowledge of computational intelligence, augmented/virtual/mixed reality and intelligent environments.
I hold a PhD in Computer Science from the University of Essex (UK) where I’m Visiting Fellow at the Immersive Education Lab (IEL). I completed a MSc in Advanced Web Engineering at the University of Essex (UK), and a BEng in Information Technology at the Instituto Politécnico Nacional (Mexico). I have several years of professional experience in financial institutions, retail and telecommunications companies, working in close collaboration with international multidisciplinary teams.
I work actively in several conferences, workshops, and journals, and I am board member of the Immersive Learning Research Network, board member of the Creative Science Foundation, associate editor of EAI Endorsed Transactions on e-Learning, senior member of IEEE, professional member of ACM and BCS, and affiliate member of ALT and CMI.
My research interests lie in the areas of mixed, augmented and virtual reality (MR/AR/VR), artificial intelligence (AI), ambient intelligence (AmI), internet-of-things (IoT), cyber-physical systems (CPS), intelligent environments, pervasive computing, computer-supported collaborative work (CSCW), technology-enhanced learning (TEL), and human-computer interaction (HCI).
